Does Quartz Scratch Easier Than Granite?
Not really. It takes about the same amount of pressure to scratch either one of them. In order to scratch granite or quartz with a common knife, you would have to be pretty aggressive and use a very heavy sharp knife, and almost purposely try to scratch it. Many people use their quartz or granite countertops as their cutting boards.
Is Granite Still In Style In 2022?
Yes, it is. Here at Countertop Concept, as a ratio of quartz countertops to granite, we probably do about 7 out of 10 jobs that are quartz.
Does Quartz Stain More Than Granite?
Quartz does not stain more than granite. Because granite is a natural stone, it has small micropores in it and some severe dyes may actually cause a stain. However, quartz is an engineered stone and there is no way to stain a quartz countertop.
What Is The Advantage Of Quartz Over Granite?
Quartz is easier to keep clean, and you don’t have to worry about the sealant. With granite, it has little tiny micropores that can get stained a bit easier than quartz, and granite does break a little easier than quartz; however, granite can withstand any kind of heat while quartz can only withstand about up to 425 degrees before you run the risk of it becoming scorched. Light scorch marks on quartz can be smoothed out, but heavy scorch marks on quartz will not be able to be removed.
Is Quartz Better Than Granite?
It’s really personal opinion. You are not going to get the true look of natural stone in quartz, but you will in granite.

About Goddard, KS
Goddard is a city in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States, and a suburb of Wichita.
In 1883, Ezekiel Wilder purchased farmland on the planned railway of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway south of Blendon, Kansas, approximately 10 miles (16 km) west of Wichita. There, he established the town of Goddard in honor of J. F. Goddard, former third vice-president of the ATSF Railway. The railroad reached Goddard in 1884, and a post office was established there the same year. Several buildings were relocated from Blendon, including the town hall and the planned Methodist church. Goddard was officially incorporated in 1910.
On June 23, 1969, an F4 tornado struck Goddard. No fatalities occurred, but six people were injured.
In recent decades as Wichita has expanded westward, a growing number of commuters have settled in Goddard, transforming it from a rural agricultural community into a suburb.
